The Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 is an ultra-high performance summer tire designed for exhilarating driving experiences. It incorporates proprietary pulse groove technology, an improved wet rubber compound, and a refined tread design to enhance water evacuation and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. This combination results in a claimed 20% shorter stopping distance on wet roads. Engineered for sporty vehicles, the Firehawk Indy 500 also excels in dry conditions. Its new tread compound and wide shoulder blocks are optimized to improve cornering stability and overall handling performance. The tire is specified with a size of 205/50R16, a load index of 87 (supporting up to 1201 lbs), and a speed rating of W, allowing for speeds up to 168 mph. The sidewall styling is black letter/black wall, and it is not a run-flat tire. Key specifications for this tire include a treadwear rating of 340, a traction rating of A, and a temperature rating of A. Firestone backs this tire with a 3-year Gold Pledge Limited Warranty.
