The Motorcraft CM-6731-FL820 is a high-performance oil filter designed to deliver superior engine protection and longevity. Its robust design, including a heavy-gauge base and canister, ensures high burst strength and increased resistance to impulse fatigue. This filter is compatible with various engines, including the 3.7L, 4.0L, 4.6L 2V/3V/4V, and 5.0L TiVCT. It is also suitable for 2005-2010 4.0L V6 Mustang models, most 5.4L engines, and fits the 2012-2013 Mustang Boss 302 equipped with a factory-installed oil cooler. It serves as a direct replacement for the Motorcraft FL-820 filter. Regarding compatibility, this filter can also function as an upgrade for the Motorcraft FL-500 filter, though it should only be used in FL-500 applications where space permits. Users should ensure adequate clearance before installation. The filter is compatible with both standard and synthetic motor oils, featuring a silicone anti-drain back valve and a non-stick sealing gasket that simplifies both installation and future removal.
