The Hondata FlashPro is a tuning interface designed for the 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R FK8. It allows users to flash custom tunes directly to their factory ECU through the OBD-II port. By connecting to a laptop, the FlashPro enables adjustments to various engine parameters including fuel maps, ignition timing, boost control, and throttle response. This device is a significant first modification for the FK8 Type R, offering significant performance gains. Available in two versions, the Race version offers unrestricted tuning access for track and off-road use. The CARB Legal version is street legal in all 50 states with a CARB EO number (D-742-2), though it has some tuning restrictions compared to the Race version. The CARB Legal version is suitable for California residents or those needing to pass emissions tests. Installation requires the ECU to be jailbroken. For 2017-2019 Type Rs, Hondata's Instant Jailbreak Service is used. For 2020-2021 Type Rs, the Hondata Jailbreak Module, sold separately, is required. All FlashPro sales are final as the device ties to the ECU's serial number. Professional tuning on a dyno is highly recommended after installation to ensure optimal performance and safety.
