FLASHRARK 3.8L V6 Supercharged Header

The FLASHARK FLES08036 exhaust header is engineered for a significant performance upgrade on select GM W-body vehicles equipped with the 3.8L L67 Supercharged V6 engine. Constructed from durable T304 stainless steel with TIG welded CNC machined flanges, this header features a 6-2-1 racing design specifically optimized for the GM 3800 V6 firing order. This design enhances exhaust scavenging, leading to improved volumetric efficiency and increased power across the RPM band. Installation of this header can yield an instant gain of 10-15 horsepower and torque. By replacing the heavy, performance-hindering factory cast iron manifolds with lighter stainless steel tubing (1.5" primary tubes and a 3" outlet), it significantly reduces backpressure, allowing the L67 supercharger to breathe more freely and build boost more effectively. The kit includes the front and rear headers, crossover pipe, mounting hardware, and metal gaskets. The surface finish is a mirror polish for both aesthetics and corrosion resistance. While the headers are designed for direct bolt-on installation on most 1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP models, minor adjustments to the crossover pipe or specific clamps may be needed depending on the year and engine mount condition. It is compatible with the 2004-2005 Chevrolet Impala SS Supercharged and Monte Carlo models with the 3.8L L67 Supercharged engine. However, these headers are specifically engineered for the L67 Supercharged engine and not for the L36 Naturally Aspirated engine; custom exhaust work may be required for L36 applications due to differences in crossover pipe and downpipe routing. A PCM recalibration is highly recommended to maximize performance gains and manage air-fuel ratios, and to prevent potential 'Knock Retard' (KR) under boost. Users should be aware of potential clearance issues with the steering shaft or spark plug wires due to increased heat radiation from the headers. Using heat sleeves for spark plug wires or upgrading to angled boots, especially for the rear bank, is strongly recommended to prevent heat damage. While the headers include O2 sensor bungs, a Check Engine Light (CEL) may occur due to changes in exhaust velocity or catalytic converter position, typically addressed via custom tuning or O2 sensor spacers. The upgrade will also result in a more aggressive and throaty exhaust note. The stock cast iron manifolds are significantly heavier than these T-304 stainless steel headers, contributing to reduced front-end weight and potentially better handling.
