Overview

This tensioner features a flat spring design for less operating range variation and a PTFE string within the spring to resist abrasion and dampen noise. It is constructed with a heavy-duty cast aluminum spring case and arm for strength and resistance to cracking and fatigue.

Its patented flat spring design offers a reduced operating range variation, while a PTFE string integrated into the spring minimizes abrasion and noise. This design helps prevent belt slippage and poor performance associated with low tension. Constructed for durability, the tensioner features a heavy-duty cast aluminum spring case and arm, which resist cracking, fatigue, and distortion. Additional premium thermoplastic rubber spring slot plugs and rubber O-ring seals are incorporated to prevent contaminants from entering the mechanism. Zinc-coated mounting bolts are included to resist rust. Dayco also notes that a steel pivot tube is featured on specific designs for enhanced stability, and the part is proudly made in the USA. Specifications for this belt tensioner include a serpentine belt type, automatic mounting type, a pulley diameter of 76 inches, and a steel pulley material. The pulley is grooved and has a width of 38.1 inches. It features two pulleys and has an outside diameter of 3 inches.
