The GM 13577429, a genuine OEM Continental flex fuel sensor, accurately measures the ethanol content in fuel, ranging from 0 to 100%. This allows flexible fuel vehicles to utilize ethanol-gasoline blends by enabling the engine control module (ECM) to adjust ignition timing and fuel injection for optimal performance and efficiency. The sensor utilizes quick-connect fittings for both fuel inlet and outlet, with all fuel passing through it before reaching the fuel rail. Internally, the sensor contains a microprocessor that measures ethanol percentage and outputs this data to the ECM as a frequency signal. The typical operating frequency range is 50-150Hz. The sensor also monitors fuel temperature and provides self-diagnostic capabilities, with an output frequency between 180Hz and 190Hz indicating potential fuel contamination. Key specifications include a 12 VDC power requirement, 3/8" (10mm) quick-connect fluid connections, and a GT150-series electrical connector. It supports a maximum flow rate of 400 LPH (105.7 US GPH) and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 150°C (-40° to 302°F). The sensor is a short-tube, small-body version without mounting holes.
