The Continental 13577429 is a genuine OEM flex fuel sensor that measures the ethanol-gasoline ratio in a vehicle's fuel system. By accurately determining the ethanol percentage, the engine management system can adjust ignition timing and fuel injection quantities for optimal performance. The sensor utilizes quick-connect fittings for fuel lines, with both incoming and outgoing connections, ensuring all fuel passes through for measurement. It outputs a signal to the engine control module (ECM) that represents the ethanol percentage, typically via a frequency signal ranging from 50-150Hz. The sensor also provides fuel temperature readings and incorporates self-diagnostic features to detect potential fuel contamination, indicated by output frequencies between 180-190Hz. Key specifications include a 12 VDC power requirement, a 3/8" (10mm) Quick-Connect fluid connection, and a GT150-series electrical connector with defined pins for power, ground, and signal output.
