Floor Heat Shield

This shield acts as a barrier to reflect and insulate from various heat sources, making it ideal for areas where high temperatures are consistently present. It effectively limits heat transfer on firewalls, transmission tunnels, floor boards, and fuel cells, while also providing excellent lightweight thermal protection, acting as a guard against track and road debris, and offering sound deadening properties. Constructed with an embossed 10-mil aluminum face bonded to a 1/8" composite glass-fiber core, the shield is backed with a high-temperature, super-strong pressure-sensitive adhesive. This material combination is capable of withstanding direct heat up to 1750°F, with the adhesive remaining effective up to 450°F. Its improved multifaceted aluminum surface offers enhanced reflection and rigidity, simplifying installation as the aluminum side must face the heat source. At only 3/16" thick, the Floor & Tunnel Shield II can be shaped and trimmed for a custom fit, making it suitable for areas with minimal clearance. The unique, patented woven glass-fiber backing contributes to its ease of use and cost-effectiveness in controlling thermal transfer. This versatile shield can be applied to numerous surfaces, including metal, aluminum, carbon fiber, and plastic. Common applications include firewalls, areas under the hood, transmission tunnels, floor pans, fuel cells, and exterior under-vehicle locations where heat reflection is necessary. The product includes one 42" x 48" sheet. It is important to note that the shield should *not* be applied directly to exhaust components.
