FM Generation 2 Door Bushings

The Flyin' FM door bushings, second generation, offer a simple yet effective upgrade for enhancing your vehicle's chassis rigidity. These bushings replace the original soft rubber components with a stiff, injection-molded, fiberglass-reinforced Zytel nylon resin from DuPont. This advanced material provides superior performance characteristics, including being 3x stronger in tensile stress, exhibiting 6.5x less stretch under tensile strain, being 1.5x more resistant to bending (flexural modulus), and offering a remarkable 39x better impact resistance. The design aims to lock the door solidly into place, allowing it to contribute more significantly to the car's structural integrity. This increased rigidity can lead to a reduction in squeaks and an overall stiffer driving feel. The bushings feature a taller profile for increased overlap with the door cup, further minimizing deflection and enhancing chassis stiffness. Installation is straightforward, typically involving the removal of two bolts holding the factory rubber bushings and replacing them with the new stiff pieces. Some minor door alignment adjustments might be necessary, especially on vehicles with a history of impacts. Available in black and red, these bushings are sold in pairs and are designed to fit a wide range of Miata models from 1990-2025, as well as specific Fiat models (2017-2020). While the product generally fits all Miatas, there have been reports of squeaking from some ND3 owners, which the manufacturer is investigating.
