The Lokar Floor Mount Shifter is designed to be mounted directly to the vehicle's floor, utilizing a solid linkage for connection to the transmission lever. This design is particularly useful for installations where an existing hole in the floor or console can be utilized, and it does not necessitate the removal of the transmission for installation. It typically requires only four drilled holes for mounting the shifter and a slot in the floor for the Quad Shift Lever. Lokar Floor Mount Shifters are especially well-suited for muscle car applications. Each kit includes necessary mounting hardware, a neutral safety switch, and detailed installation instructions. Customers can choose their preferred shifter lever and knob combination for a custom fit and appearance. The shifter incorporates safety features to prevent accidental gear engagement, including a positive lock-out mechanism in Park and Neutral. A properly wired and adjusted neutral safety switch ensures the vehicle starts only in Park or Neutral. Various lever options are available, including straight, single bend, double bend, or bench bend levers, crafted from high-quality mild steel with black Cerakote or chrome-plated finishes. Lever lengths range from 4" up to 32". A wide array of push-button shifter knobs are also available in polished, brushed, or black finishes. Knob adapters are offered for those preferring a classic look without a push button, or for installing vintage-style shift knobs.
