FMIC Front Mount Intercooler Kit

The 27WON FMIC kit is engineered to significantly improve airflow and thermal efficiency for the 2016+ Honda Civic 1.5T and 2017+ Civic SI models. Recognizing the OEM intercooler as a bottleneck for power gains beyond 200 horsepower, this kit utilizes a larger core with increased frontal area and thickness, resulting in a 120% total core volume increase. The design incorporates aluminum cast end tanks with integrated air-foils to optimize flow distribution across the entire core, enhancing cooling efficiency. This leads to a reduction in intake air charge temperature, crucial for consistent performance during spirited driving and preventing heat soak that affects the stock system. The kit includes meticulously designed piping: a 2.25-inch "hotside" pipe to promote quick response and a 2.75-inch "coldside" pipe to create a larger air "plenum" before the throttle body, reducing lag. These pipes are constructed from single seamless units to minimize potential leak points. The silicone couplers are made from 4-ply reinforced silicone with integrated wire reinforcement for increased strength and flexibility. For added functionality, a 1/8-27 NPT port is integrated into the coldside pipe for methanol auxiliary cooling or fueling. The kit comes complete with polished stainless steel T-bolt clamps. Extensive testing, including dyno runs on a 2018 SI sedan, showed significant gains. A "drop-in" installation of the 27WON Intercooler System alone provided 20whp & 25wtq. With optimized tuning, an additional 15whp was achieved, for a total of 35whp & 25wtq, with potential for more low-end torque on a built engine. The pressure drop across the core was reduced from approximately 1.60psi to 0.70psi, aiding turbo spool time. Installation is rated at a 2/5 difficulty with an estimated 3-hour install time, and full-color digital installation instructions are provided. Compatibility: This kit is designed for the 2016+ Honda Civic with the 1.5L turbo engine (USDM and International, including sedan, coupe, and hatch models) and the 2017+ Honda Civic SI (FC1 and FC3). Note that the 27WON Cold-pipe may contact the underside of Mishimoto intake users. The kit includes a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
