The Focal EC 165 KE is a 2-way coaxial car speaker kit, representing the fourth generation of K2 Power kits. These speakers are designed, developed, and manufactured in Focal's workshops in France, bringing an elevated in-car listening experience. The kit includes two 6.5-inch (16.5 cm) woofers with coaxial tweeters, featuring Focal's emblematic aramid fiber K2 cone, known for its rigidity, lightness, and damping properties, resulting in precise, dynamic, and uncolored sound. Key technologies enhance performance and sound quality. The TMD® (Tuned Mass Damper) suspension, with harmonic damping, stabilizes the suspension for improved sound neutrality and reduced distortion, particularly between 1kHz and 2kHz. The 'M'-profile inverted dome aramid fiber tweeter offers better sound dispersion for sweet and precise high frequencies. Additionally, a progressive profile spider increases the linearity, precision, and dynamics of the sound by better damping the cone's movements. The speakers boast exceptional power handling with an RMS power of 80W and an impedance of 4 Ω. They also feature an aluminum frame for rigidity and a non-magnetic profile, contributing to better excursion. Installation is simplified with an integrated 6dB crossover and a compact terminal block.
