Xona Rotor XR turbochargers feature a proprietary variable-preload ball bearing cartridge system with hybrid ceramic balls and steel races (ABEC 7 angular contact) to prevent ball sliding, scuffing, and fretting at high shaft speeds. The bearing housing is fully-machined, high-strength stainless steel with an extended water jacket to combat heat soakback and prevent piston ring collapse. Twin gas ring seals at both compressor and turbine ends reduce oil leakage and gas intrusion, extending seal life. Large-diameter oil slingers further reduce splash oil at the piston ring seal. The compressor register includes an overbuilt backplate and cover interface for tolerance to external loads, preventing wheel rubbing. Oil inlet options are 7/16" inverted flare or M12x1.25, with an integrated "last ditch" oil filter. A modular oil drain flange allows for various bolt spacing.
