This includes a quicker valve opening and a softer closing action, which not only enhances stability for the valve seat rings but also reduces stress on valvetrain components, contributing to quieter operation and increased longevity. The design focuses on optimizing 'velocity' and 'acceleration' characteristics, offering higher lift compared to stock profiles for a given duration. Tomei engineers have developed these ProCams to deliver a well-balanced profile that can yield 1.3-1.5 times more performance than stock camshafts, with optimal performance targeted in the 4,000-10,000 RPM range. The manufacturing process utilizes high-strength raw materials and leading CNC grinding technology to ensure exceptional accuracy and quality. Each camshaft is coated with manganese phosphate to provide crucial protection against damage during initial startup before lubrication is fully established, ensuring smooth operation. This camshaft set requires high-performance valve springs to function correctly. The specifications for this ProCam set include an intake duration of 307 degrees and lift of 11.01mm, with an exhaust duration of 291 degrees and lift of 10.01mm. It is designed specifically for the Toyota 4A-G 20V engine found in models such as the 101 Levin/Trueno (1991-1995) and 111 Levin/Trueno (1995-2000).
