The Eagle Specialty Products H-Beam connecting rod is constructed from forged 4340 steel, offering enhanced strength and durability for performance applications. It features a fully machined and shot-peened surface for a smooth finish and precise sizing, with a press-fit piston pin and 7/16 inch cap screws made from 8740 material. This rod is specifically designed for Pontiac V8 engines and has a length of 6.625 inches. These connecting rods are recommended for competition use and are sold as a weight-matched set to ensure optimal engine balance. The product description also notes specific installation instructions: torque to 63 ft-lbs using ARP moly lube ONLY. Vehicle applications include a range of Pontiac models from 1967 to 1979, such as the GTO, Grand Safari, LeMans, Firebird, Grand Prix, Bonneville, and Catalina.
