Forged H-Beam Connecting Rod Set, 1.8T 20V 06A

The IE Engineering IERHVA2B-RD forged H-beam connecting rods are engineered to significantly upgrade the reliability of VW and Audi 1.8T 20V 06A engines when increasing power output through larger turbos or higher boost. These drop-in rods utilize a 19mm tapered wrist pin, ensuring compatibility with stock pistons, and are constructed from vacuum-drawn 2-piece 4340 chrome moly steel for superior strength. These connecting rods feature an H-beam design, which offers a robust combination of strength, durability, stiffness, and rigidity, making them a substantial improvement over weaker factory units. Each rod is computer-optimized for unique VW/Audi engine applications, considering factors like cylinder pressure. The rods are honed in-house to within 250 millionths of an inch for precise bearing operation and are available with an optional rifle drilling (forced pin oiling) for extended wrist pin life, highly recommended for street-driven vehicles. Sets are balanced to within +/- 1 gram for optimal engine balance and performance. The IERHVA2B-RD rods are rated to support up to 700HP on 4-cylinder engines and include genuine IE Spec ARP 2000 rod bolts. The product is dimensionally and magnaflux inspected, and multi-stage heat-treated for dimensional stability and fatigue life. Installation requires specific torque specifications for the ARP 2000 bolts, with a recommended stretch of .006” using a stretch gauge or a final torque of 50 ft/lbs when using a calibrated torque wrench, with a multi-step tightening procedure. Please note that rifle drilling is sold separately. These rods are designed for a wide range of Audi and Volkswagen models including the A4 (1996-2008), A6 (1998-2011), TT (2000-2015), A3 (1996-2013), S3 (1996-2013), Golf (1993-2005), GTI (1999-2009), Jetta (1993-2010), Beetle (1998-2011), Passat (1998-2010), and EOS (2006-2015), specifically for engines with 1.8T 20V, 2.0L 8V, 2.0L 16V ABF, and 2.0T FSI EA113 designations. Crucially, they fit stock pistons with 19mm tapered wrist pins only. Note that they are not compatible with Audi TT and S3 225HP models with 20mm non-tapered wrist pins.
