The Eagle Specialty Products CRS5400S3D2000 H-beam connecting rods are engineered for high-performance applications and competition use. Crafted from forged 4340 steel, these rods begin as a two-piece forging that undergoes a comprehensive machining process, followed by shot-peening to relieve stress and enhance fatigue life. Each rod is meticulously tested using multi-stage heat treatment, X-ray, sonic testing, and magnafluxing to guarantee its integrity and consistent sizing. These connecting rods feature a 5.400-inch center-to-center length, a 2.123-inch rod journal diameter, and a 0.927-inch wrist pin bore, making them suitable for specific Ford engine applications like the 5.0L Windsor. They are fitted with ARP 2000 alloy rod bolts, boasting a 230,000 psi tensile strength, which significantly increases their power-handling capabilities compared to standard bolts. The set includes precision cap alignment sleeves for positive cap location and silicon bronze bushings for floating pin compatibility. They are sold as a weight-matched set to ensure optimal engine balance. Eagle recommends these rods for competition use and notes their suitability for engines up to 1,200 horsepower.
