Forged Piston Set, 2618 Aluminum, Dome Head

The JE Pistons 314345 piston kit is engineered for Subaru EJ Series engines, specifically those with an EJ25 SOHC cylinder head, offering a complete street performance solution. Each piston in the set is forged from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, making it ideal for high-demand performance applications where durability is paramount. These pistons are designed with a dome head type and a 11.5:1 compression ratio, contributing to enhanced engine performance. JE Pistons utilizes a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design, which reduces skirt width to minimize friction and power loss. Furthermore, the design incorporates a shorter wrist pin, saving additional weight. Some applications may also feature skirt coating to reduce friction and wear on piston skirts and cylinder walls, while simultaneously lowering operating noise. An accumulator groove may be included to reduce pressure from combustion gases, thus minimizing ring fluttering and improving ring seal for consistent power delivery. The pistons have a bore diameter of 99.75mm (3.927 inches), a compression height of 1.162 inches, and a piston volume of 2.70cc. The wrist pin is made from hardened 5115 Low Carbon Steel and has an outer diameter of 0.905 inches.
