Forged Stroker Piston Set 83.00mm Bore 2.0L 9.5:1

The JE Pistons forged stroker piston set is engineered to transform VW/Audi 1.8T 20V engines from their original 1.8L to a 2.0L (2008cc) displacement, utilizing an increased 92.8mm stroke crankshaft and 144X20 connecting rod. This upgrade yields increased horsepower and torque, allows for faster spool of larger turbos, and produces more power even on low octane fuel, while also reducing the chance of detonation due to lower peak cylinder pressures. These pistons are forged from 2618 T6 aluminum, a high-tensile strength alloy chosen for its durability in extreme operating environments, high compression ratios, and high boost levels, capable of tolerating extreme G-forces. The optimized dish and dome design is tailored to the specific combustion chamber of the application, featuring smooth radii for excellent flame travel and properly placed valve reliefs as needed. Each set includes performance-matching JE Pro Seal piston rings, known for reduced friction, lower wear, and improved ring seal, along with straight wall carbon steel wrist pins and wire locks. To achieve the 2008cc displacement, these 83mm pistons require machine work, specifically a cylinder bore and hone, to be performed by a machine shop. This process ensures proper piston-to-wall clearance and can contribute to stronger compression, longer piston and ring life, and quieter operation. Each piston undergoes a 23-point quality inspection in a controlled lab environment and is individually serialized for complete traceability, ensuring they are ready for immediate use.
