The BDS Suspension 98224605 is a performance-tuned front shock absorber engineered to complement BDS suspension systems. This shock absorber features a robust 2.0-inch diameter body constructed from cold-forged, metal-impacted 6061 T6 aluminum, which dissipates heat significantly faster than conventional steel bodies, allowing it to run as cool as a 2.5-inch shock. Constructed with CNC-machined aluminum components, the shock boasts a heavy-duty 5/8-inch chrome shaft that is induction case-hardened to over 55 Rockwell C. This hardening process virtually eliminates damage from scratches caused by rust or debris, ensuring durability. The Internal Floating Piston (IFP) design is crucial for fade-free performance; it creates a barrier between the shock oil and the high-pressure nitrogen gas chamber, preventing oil aeration and cavitation. This results in a predictable and reliable ride, even under the most demanding off-road conditions. This shock absorber is specifically valved by Fox and BDS for application-specific performance, ensuring it works perfectly with BDS suspension systems. The shock has a compressed length of 13.75 inches and an extended length of 22.25 inches, with an eyelet lower mount and a stem upper mount.
