The Johnson Ultima Switch is a highly reliable solid-state switch that uses no moving or mechanical parts. It employs patented Mirus™ field-effect detector cells that create micro-electrical fields to detect disruptions caused by water or fluids. The detector cells are fully sealed and are never in contact with water, making them impervious to corrosion, oil, or foreign debris. This environmentally sensitive, mercury-free switch eliminates corrosion possibilities due to its totally sealed solid-state electronics and field detectors, with no exposed sensors. The Ultima Switch activates a bilge pump when the fluid level reaches 2 inches (50 mm) and deactivates it at a 3/4 inch (20 mm) fluid level. A 3-second delay prevents false starts. It is rated to handle pumps up to 20 amps at either 12 or 24 volts DC.
