The EMPI 22-2855 is a bolt-on front disc brake conversion kit engineered to upgrade 1971-1979 Volkswagen Super Beetles from their original drum brakes to a more effective disc brake system. This comprehensive kit features heavy-duty cast brackets that attach directly to the stock drum-type spindles, with calipers then bolting to these brackets. The conversion includes disc brake rotors with a 4 x 130mm VW lug bolt pattern and 14mm threads, disc brake calipers with pads, and 10-inch metal brake lines. Bolts and washers are provided for caliper installation. Users will need to utilize their existing wheel bearings and seals, or purchase new ones separately. The kit is specifically designed for the Volkswagen Type 1 Super Beetle models manufactured between 1971 and 1979, provided they have stock drum spindles.
