Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit

The EMPI Disc Brake Kit offers a significant upgrade for 1971-1979 VW Super Beetles by converting the original drum brakes to a more modern disc brake system. This kit is designed as a true bolt-on solution, simplifying the conversion process. Key components include heavy-duty cast caliper brackets that mount directly to your vehicle's stock drum brake spindles. The kit comes with blank brake rotors that do not have a pre-drilled lug pattern, requiring the end-user to have their desired pattern drilled into them. Wheel studs are not included with this kit. The package contains two blank brake rotors, two brake calipers with pads, two caliper mounting brackets, two 10-inch metal brake lines, and caliper mounting hardware. Installation requires the use of stock-style drum brake spindles only; this kit cannot be used with backing plates. It's important to note that this kit does not include essential items such as wheel bearings, grease seals, spindle hardware, or grease caps, which should be sourced separately. Furthermore, the manufacturer strongly advises that brake line installation and caliper bleeding be performed by a trained mechanic due to the critical nature of proper function to avoid brake failure.
