Front Limited-Slip Differential

The Wavetrac front limited-slip differential is engineered for AWD vehicles equipped with the 02Q 6-speed manual transmission. Its innovative design utilizes precisely engineered wave profiles on the side gears that climb each other under load, automatically increasing the bias ratio in low-traction situations. This unique mechanism enhances grip and performance when necessary, then seamlessly reverts to its nominal bias ratio for smooth, predictable handling in all driving conditions. Constructed with superior materials, the Wavetrac differential features internal gears made from high-strength 9310 alloy steel and a case-hardened steel billet body. The differential's gear tooth forms are optimized for strength and oil retention, and the side gear/axle interface is reinforced to handle high power levels. Further customization is possible with interchangeable friction plates, sold separately. These plates, made from various materials with different friction coefficients, allow for fine-tuning of the differential's response to suit specific driving needs and performance goals. The standard configuration includes carbon-fiber bias plates for balanced, all-around performance. This differential is explicitly stated to be for All Wheel Drive cars only and is a FRONT Differential. It fits select Audi A3 (8P 2005-2013) models with 2.0T FSI, 3.2L VR6, or 2.0T TSI engines (Quattro variants only), Audi TT Mk2 (2008-2015) models with 3.2L VR6 or 2.0T TSI engines (Quattro variants only), and the VW Mk6 Golf R (2012-2013) with the 2.0T engine.
