The Megan Racing front lower control arm is engineered as a complete replacement for the factory component in Volkswagen Golf 5/6 (2006-2014) and Audi A3 vehicles. It utilizes a cast aluminum construction, similar to the OEM part but with the added benefit of integrated polyurethane bushings. This design aims to significantly improve cornering response by reducing unwanted flex and slop compared to traditional rubber bushings. The control arm also incorporates subtle geometry adjustments, offering -0.3 degrees of camber and +2.5 degrees of caster. These changes are intended to optimize the tire's contact patch during cornering and improve steering stability, particularly the 'memory steer' effect. The use of lightweight cast aluminum ensures durability under high-performance driving conditions while keeping unsprung weight to a minimum. All hardware is treated for corrosion resistance and the product comes with a 1-year warranty against manufacturer defects.
