Front Mount Intercooler

The Forge Motorsport FMINT22 is a high-performance front mount intercooler specifically engineered for the Hyundai Veloster N with a 6-speed manual transmission. This intercooler is essential for owners who track their vehicles, run a high-performance tune, or operate in hot climates, as it significantly reduces inlet air temperatures (IATs). Utilizing an industry-leading bar and plate core design, the FMINT22 offers a 129% increase in volume and a 71% increase in frontal surface area over the stock intercooler, making it the largest available for the Veloster N. The design incorporates Solidworks CAD and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for optimal flow, with high-flow cast end tanks featuring an internal divider to ensure the entire core volume is utilized. The inlet and outlet sizes are increased to 65mm, providing a 27% larger volume than stock. A custom hard pipe with a 64mm diameter replaces the factory 50mm hot side pipe to maximize performance gains. Extensive dyno testing demonstrated the effectiveness of the FMINT22, reducing IATs by half, from 48°C to 24°C, even in relatively cold conditions (15°C ambient). This improved cooling efficiency prevents the engine management system from retarding ignition timing due to high temperatures, thus maintaining optimal engine performance. Combined with other performance modifications, this intercooler contributed to gains of 307bhp and 347 lb/ft of torque, exceeding Hyundai's claimed figures.
