The Forge Motorsport FMINTVWT5 is an uprated front-mounting intercooler specifically designed for the VW T5 bus and van variants. This intercooler is significantly larger than the original unit but serves as a direct plug-in replacement, eliminating the need for additional hoses or pipework. Its larger front cross-sectional area enhances cooling efficiency and power recovery, leading to an improved driving experience. Engineered for lower resistance compared to the OEM intercooler, the FMINTVWT5 does not introduce turbo lag. The manufacturer reports a gain of 10hp and 20 ft-lbs of torque on their own T5 van simply by installing this intercooler. This upgrade is particularly recommended for vehicles that have been equipped with a tuning box or updated engine management software. The Forge Motorsport FMINTVWT5 intercooler is compatible with a range of engines, including the 85bhp 1.9, 105bhp 1.9, 130bhp 2.5, and 170bhp 2.5 TDI engines. Specific engine codes supported include AXB, AXD, AXE, AXC, BRR, BRS, BNZ, BPC, BLU, CAAA, CAAB, CAAC, CAAD, CAAE, CCHA, and CCHB. Additionally, it fits the 2010 onwards VW T5.1 2.0 TDI single turbo models with 140bhp, 114bhp, 102bhp, and 84bhp outputs.
