The intercooler includes a black powder-coated steel, tubular crash bar and mandrel-bent aluminum piping for optimal airflow.

The Mishimoto Front Mount Intercooler Kit is engineered for the 2015+ Subaru WRX STI (chassis code VA, engine code EJ257), providing enhanced airflow and cooling capabilities to maximize horsepower and torque. This intercooler features a substantial 3.5-inch thick bar-and-plate core with smooth cast end tanks, designed for optimal cooling efficiency with minimal pressure drop. It supports applications up to 600 wheel horsepower and 30 PSI of boost pressure. The kit includes a custom-designed, black powder-coated tubular steel crash bar that allows for a direct fit without modifying the front bumper, and importantly, it retains the stock fog lights. The package also contains mandrel-bent aluminum piping and two different turbo outlet hoses to accommodate both stock and aftermarket turbochargers. It is compatible with the stock bypass valve or aftermarket blow-off valves, ensuring versatility for various setups. A critical note for installation: this FMIC kit is not compatible with the stock intake system. Mishimoto strongly recommends against using this intercooler kit with stock ECU programming. A professional ECU retune is highly advised after installation to optimize performance and ensure proper operation. Power gains will vary based on turbo size, exhaust system, fuel system, and the specific ECU tune applied.
