Description

The Cobb Tuning Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) for the 2016-2018 Ford Focus RS is engineered to significantly enhance cooling performance, especially when paired with tuning solutions like the V3 Accessport. Despite its increased size, it maintains a low pressure drop of approximately 0.3-0.5 psi. A standout feature of this intercooler is its custom-designed fin within the 'hot side' endtank, which promotes even air dispersion across the entire core. The intercooler utilizes a bar and plate structure, cast endtanks with the COBB logo, and a slip-fit inlet. Installation is straightforward, requiring no bumper trimming and featuring worm clamps for a secure, leak-free connection to the factory charge pipes. Combined with an Accessport, upgrading the stock intercooler is presented as a high-value modification for the Focus RS, maximizing the potential of the stock turbo and providing ample room for future performance enhancements. The kit includes the intercooler core and necessary hardware for installation, with instructions available via a provided link.
