Front Mount Intercooler Kit 23 ⅝” x 6 ½” x 3.0”

The ECS Tuning Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) Kit is engineered to enhance the performance of your MK6 Jetta 1.8T, 2.0T, or GLI by improving airflow and reducing intake temperatures. The factory intercooler is often undersized and poorly positioned, sandwiched between other heat exchangers, leading to reduced performance. This kit relocates the intercooler to the front of the vehicle, directly behind the bumper cover, to capture maximum airflow and present a more aggressive aesthetic. Constructed with a substantial bar and plate aluminum core measuring 23 ⅝” x 6 ½” x 3.0” (460.69 in.³ volume), this intercooler is designed for maximum heat dissipation. The kit includes durable steel mounting brackets that are powder-coated for corrosion resistance and attach using existing crash beam bolts, requiring absolutely no cutting or drilling. The couplers are made from heavy-duty, 5-ply fiberglass-reinforced silicone, rated for up to 250° F and 45 PSI, ensuring reliability under demanding conditions. ECS Tuning conducted in-house testing on a K04-equipped MK6, measuring significant performance gains. The results indicated a maximum increase of +9 WHP at 5,525 RPM and +10 WTQ at 5,220 RPM. Additionally, the testing revealed a 9% increase in cooling efficiency and a notable reduction of 66° F in intercooler outlet temperatures after three consecutive dyno pulls. The kit comes complete with the front mount intercooler, direct-fit mounting bracket kit with hardware, and silicone couplers with T-bolt hose clamps.
