Front Mount Intercooler Kit

The CX Racing Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) Kit is specifically designed for the 2nd Gen MazdaSpeed3 (2010-2013) with the 2.3L DISI Turbo engine. This kit replaces the restrictive factory top-mount intercooler, offering improved flow, an optimized front-mount position for maximum ambient airflow exposure, and increased surface area. The result is substantially reduced charge temperatures, elimination of heat soak, and enhanced performance. Extensive dyno testing demonstrated that the factory intercooler suffered from extreme heat soak after only three consecutive runs, with charge temperatures increasing by over 40 degrees. In contrast, the CX Racing FMIC dramatically reduced inlet charge temperatures, maintaining consistent cooling run after run. This superior cooling capability led to an observed improvement of up to 23 hp and 31 lb-ft of torque on the 2.3L DISI engine. The kit includes a bar and plate intercooler with a core size of 26.5"x6.25"x2.75" and an overall size of 33.5"x6.25"x2.75". It features 2.5" inlets and outlets and a 2.5" core thickness. The piping kit is made from mandrel-bent aluminum and comes complete with a blow-off valve (BOV), silicon hoses, and T-bolt clamps. If using an optional Mishimoto or TR1035 core, reducer couplers and clamps may be necessary, and minor customization might be required as the core may hang slightly below the bumper.
