The CXRacing FMIC (Front-Mount Intercooler Kit) is engineered for the 2nd Generation MazdaSpeed3, aiming to significantly enhance performance by replacing the stock, restrictive top-mount intercooler. This upgrade promotes improved airflow, optimal positioning for cooling, and increased surface area, which collectively work to substantially reduce charge temperatures and prevent heat soak. By relocating the intercooler from under the hood to the front of the vehicle, this kit maximizes exposure to ambient airflow, ensuring more effective cooling across all boost levels. This is crucial for maintaining consistent performance, especially during demanding driving conditions or consecutive runs. Extensive dyno testing indicated that the factory intercooler suffered from significant heat soak, with charge temperatures increasing by over 40 degrees after just three runs. The included piping is constructed from mandrel-bent aluminum and comes complete with a blow-off valve, silicon hoses, and T-bolt clamps for a comprehensive installation. It is important to note that mounting brackets and the intercooler core itself are not included with this piping kit.
