Front Mount Intercooler Kit

Unlike the stock intercooler, which quickly loses efficiency and power, this package maintains consistently cooler charge air temperatures, leading to sustained power output, especially at wide-open throttle. Two versions of the intercooler kit are available. The Standard version provides the intercooler, charge pipes, and necessary hardware, and notably does not require PCM tuning. For those seeking maximum gains, the Larger Throttle Body Kit includes the standard intercooler package along with a larger throttle body. While the larger throttle body itself doesn't mandate tuning, ZZPerformance advises a PCM tune or update for optimal performance and to fully leverage the upgraded components. This intercooler package is designed to fit all trim level Chevrolet Sonic models from 2012 to 2016. For 2017 and newer Sonic models, some minor trimming of plastics may be necessary for installation, though the core fitment remains. A product update as of June 1, 2021, indicates that the kit now includes new charge pipes and fits RS models without requiring any trimming. The system is designed to add 10+ horsepower, with more significant gains realized over time at wide-open throttle due to its superior heat dissipation capabilities compared to the OEM intercooler.
