Overview

The CTS Turbo FMIC Kit is a front mount intercooler designed for the VW MKIV 1.8T Golf, GTI, and Jetta. It offers significant cooling improvements over the factory setup and is capable of supporting up to 450 crank horsepower. The kit features a proprietary high-density bar/plate core and cast aluminum end tanks, with "bead rolled" aluminum piping to prevent leaks. It includes 4-ply silicone couplers and stainless steel T-Bolt clamps.

The CTS Turbo FMIC Kit is engineered to provide substantial cooling benefits for the VW MKIV 1.8T (Golf/GTI/Jetta), making it an excellent upgrade for both stock and modified vehicles. The piping in this kit is mandrel-bent 2.5" aluminum with a black powder coat and is "bead rolled" to ensure boost tubes do not blow off or leak. It includes 4-ply silicone couplers and stainless steel T-Bolt clamps for a secure connection. The intercooler itself is pressure tested and rated to support over 450 crank HP, with core dimensions of 25.25"x8"x3" and an end-to-end width of 35.5". This kit is compatible with stock turbochargers (K03, K03s, K04, or ATP Eliminator kit) as well as big turbo applications, though CTS exhaust manifold or custom work may be required for the latter. The intercooler is designed to fit 1999.5-2005 VW Jetta 1.8T models (including GLI manual transmission only) and 1999.5-2005 VW Golf 1.8T models (including GTI manual transmission only). Modifications may be necessary for proper fitment, and an installation PDF should be consulted prior to purchase. Additionally, the stock bumper grilles can be retained on Golf/GTI/Jetta models with minimal bumper trimming, and cutting to the bumper rebar and bumper is required.
