The BMW Genuine Parts 31311096859 is a front spring strut engineered to restore the original ride comfort and handling for your BMW 540i. Manufactured by Sachs, a trusted original equipment supplier to BMW for suspension components, this strut meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance specifications, holding TUV approval. This part is a direct replacement for the factory front strut, providing an OEM alternative that offers virtually identical performance and quality without the inflated price of a direct Original BMW part. It is designed for the 1997-2003 BMW 5 Series E39 540i models equipped with the M Sport I suspension. It is important to note that this shock is not recommended for use with shorter springs. For optimal safety and performance, front struts should always be replaced in pairs, so be sure to order both a left and a right strut. Additionally, new mounts, dust boots, spring pads, and bump stops are sold separately and may be required for installation. This part comes with a two-year warranty.
