As a frequent wear component on vehicles with MacPherson suspension systems, these mounts secure the top of the strut and serve as a critical pivot point for steering. Over time, especially with higher mileage, the strut bearing can degrade, leading to a rougher feel and reduced steering performance, while the rubber in the mount may crack, causing looseness and other issues. This strut mount is made in Germany and is manufactured to the same strict engineering standards and specifications as original equipment parts. The product information notes that two of these mounts are required per car, and it is recommended to replace them when installing new struts, as the strut bearing can develop play over time. Symptoms of a failing strut mount can include clunking or knocking noises over bumps, excessive vibration through the steering wheel or chassis, poor steering response, uneven tire wear, and increased body roll or sway during cornering. Replacing the strut mount along with new strut assemblies will help ensure optimal performance and longevity of your vehicle's suspension system.
