Front Subframe Brace

The Flyin Miata complete butterfly brace v2.1 is engineered to significantly increase chassis rigidity in NA and NB Miatas. A stiffer chassis provides a more stable platform for the suspension, resulting in improved handling predictability and a more refined ride by minimizing flex that can alter suspension geometry under load. This updated design offers more ground clearance than the original, accommodates various exhaust configurations, and is easier to install and remove for service. Constructed from stainless steel, this brace ensures long-term durability and resistance to rust. It ties directly into the front subframe mount points and is fully compatible with factory front and rear subframe braces. However, cars equipped with "Sport" undercar bracing will need to remove two center cross braces to accommodate this component. The brace also includes mounting points for an optional flat undertray, though one is not currently available. The total weight is 33 lbs, contributing minimal mass to the vehicle's center of gravity. If you have the Flyin' Miata version 2.0 frame rails, the butterfly brace can be added as an upgrade. Older versions of Flyin' Miata frame rails may not be directly compatible without the addition of welding plates. Installation involves drilling into the car and careful measurement to ensure proper alignment. Some users have noted that with stock engine mounts, the front butterfly brace may contact headers, potentially requiring engine mount replacement for optimal fit.
