FT86 V2.1 Turbo Kit

The JDL Auto Design FT86 V2.1 Turbo Kit provides a comprehensive forced induction solution for the Scion FR-S, Toyota 86, and Subaru BRZ, specifically designed for the FA20 engine architecture from 2013-2020. The kit's core components include JDL 304 U.S. Stainless Steel tubular runners, crafted with CNC mandrel bends and featuring an investment cast merge collector. These runners are offered in both unequal and equal length configurations, with a thick-walled Schedule 40 construction for durability. The system also incorporates a 39mm wastegate flange (2-bolt), a 3-inch stainless steel downpipe with options for 2.5-inch or 3-inch outlet sizing, and a Turbosmart 38mm wastegate pre-set to 7 PSI. For intake and exhaust management, the kit includes a JDL aluminum intake and a Turbosmart Vee Port PRO blow-off valve. Intercooling is handled by a JDL short path aluminum intercooler with powder-coated chrome charge piping, which requires modification to the OEM crash beam. An upgrade option for a long route intercooler is available for those seeking a no-cut solution. The base turbocharger is a Garrett GT28 journal bearing, with upgrades available for Garrett GT ball bearing and GTX Gen II turbochargers, including options capable of up to 750 hp depending on the chosen turbo. Installation of this turbo kit requires additional components and modifications. A 3-BAR MAP sensor is mandatory for accurate boost level recognition, and tuning solutions are sold separately and are also required. Modifications to the OEM crash beam are necessary, or the use of a JDL Auto Design Bumper Bar is recommended. The manufacturer offers various optional upgrades, including thermal ceramic coating for hot parts, custom charge pipe colors, and a black heat dissipating coating for the intercooler. The kit comes with all necessary hardware, hoses, and gaskets, including water cooling hardware for the turbos.
