The Spelab Upper Fuel Filter Relocation Kit is engineered to solve common issues with the factory upper fuel filter on 2011-2015 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke F250, F350, F450, and F550 trucks. The original plastic housing, located deep within the engine valley, is susceptible to becoming brittle and cracking from intense engine heat, posing a significant leak risk. Servicing this component is also problematic, often resulting in diesel fuel spills that create a mess and an persistent odor. This kit provides a permanent upgrade by deleting the engine bay filter and relocating the fuel filtration system to the chassis frame rail. It converts the system to use a heavy-duty metal spin-on filter, eliminating the risk of plastic failure and simplifying maintenance. Key features include mess-free maintenance by moving the filter to the accessible underside of the vehicle, allowing for filter changes in minutes while keeping the engine bay diesel-free. The superior durability is achieved by replacing the fragile OEM plastic housing with a robust metal mounting system and canister, which prevents cracks caused by heat cycling and vibration, thereby reducing fire hazards.
