The Pierburg VANOS solenoid valve provides an effective solution for addressing common check engine lights and performance issues, including vehicle limp mode, often triggered by hard driving. This unit is specifically engineered to resolve error codes 2A82 (inlet) and 2A87 (outlet), making it a versatile replacement for either side of the VANOS variable cam control system. Constructed to meet or exceed OEM specifications, this solenoid assembly includes a set of sealing o-rings to facilitate a proper, leak-free installation. It is compatible with various BMW models equipped with N52 3.0L and N54 3.0L engines, including 1-Series, 3-Series, 5-Series, 7-Series, X3, X5, X6, and Z4 platforms spanning model years 2003 through 2017. Users should use the vehicle selector tool to confirm precise fitment, as application requirements vary by specific submodel and production year.
