Fuel Surge Tank

The surge tank itself holds fuel, acting as a buffer, and is directly fed by the vehicle's main fuel pump. Excess fuel is then returned to the main tank. This system is an excellent upgrade for vehicles experiencing significant power increases, such as those with forced induction. Stainless steel hardware is included for mounting. The surge tank itself has a capacity of 2.21L (0.58 gallons). Its internal pickups can be configured in multiple ways, including single 16AN, single 10AN, dual 10AN, or a combination of 16AN and 10AN. Two 80-micron filter socks are provided for the 10AN pickups. A separate high-micron external fuel filter will be necessary if the 16AN pickup is utilized. Installation involves routing the supply from the main tank to the surge tank, an overflow from the surge tank back to the main tank, and a return line from the external fuel pressure regulator. Two ports are available for feeding external fuel pumps that power the engine. This unit comes pre-assembled with a single 10AN pickup, suitable for an inline external or mechanical pump, and can be converted to a 16AN pickup using the included parts. An additional 10AN pickup is supplied for a secondary priming pump, beneficial for faster engine startup with a mechanical main pump. It is crucial that the surge tank is not mounted horizontally to prevent air pockets from being drawn into the pickup. This surge tank is universally compatible with external electric or mechanical fuel pumps. It is E85 compatible and designed for use with fuel-injected engines.
