Fuel Tank Filter

The Subaru 42072AA011 is a genuine Subaru fuel tank filter, designed as a direct replacement for your vehicle's original component. This part is also referred to as a fuel hose filter, PT731890. This fuel filter is compatible with a wide range of Subaru models. It fits the 1998-2004 Forester (2.5L H4 engines, Base, L, S, X, XS, XT trims), the 1993-2004 Impreza (1.8L H4, 2.0L H4 Turbo, 2.2L H4, 2.5L H4 engines, Base, Brighton, L, L+, LE, LS, LX, Outback, RS, TS, WRX trims), the 2004 Impreza STI (2.0L H4 Turbo, 2.5L H4 engines), the 2002-2004 Impreza WRX (2.0L H4 Turbo, 2.5L H4 engines), and the 1990-1994 Legacy (Base, L, LS, LS-D, Turbo trims). Installation involves loosening clamps, sliding them down hoses, and carefully twisting and pulling the hoses to detach from the old filter. For some models, plastic tabs may need to be pried away. The fuel filter is typically located on the left side of the engine compartment, near the brake master cylinder.
