Description

Its primary function is to capture and store fuel vapors that evaporate from the fuel tank, preventing them from escaping into the atmosphere. The canister contains activated charcoal, which absorbs the hydrocarbons from the fuel vapors. During engine operation, these stored vapors are purged from the canister and directed into the engine's intake manifold to be burned, thus reducing harmful emissions.
