Full Stack 2.25" Intercooler Core

The ZZP Full Stack 2.25" Intercooler Core represents the latest in intercooler design, specifically intended as a replacement or upgrade for ZZPerformance's 3800 intercooling systems. This core boasts significant improvements, including straight-through PCV passages that eliminate the need to swap the intake manifold, allowing for the reuse of your stock lower intake. The core itself has been re-engineered for greater efficiency, featuring a 20% denser core with a shape optimized for actual airflow paths. Internally, it moves away from RTV sealing, employing O-rings and machined O-ring passages for a more reliable seal. This revision is approximately 3/4 of a pound lighter than the previous Stage 2 core and features larger 3/4” nipples (up from 5/8”) to enhance water flow. Improved machining quality is also a key benefit of this design. This intercooler core maintains the 2.25" diameter, ensuring it fits under most stock hoods with no modifications required. However, ZZPerformance recommends the use of their cradle spacers for optimal installation. The system is capable of supporting temperature drops between 110-160 degrees Fahrenheit, contingent on blower speed and boost levels. ZZPerformance emphasizes its leadership in intercooler research and testing, backed by their dedicated supercharger dyno which measures numerous parameters to guarantee performance. This product includes longer stainless steel bolts for blower mounting. Note that gaskets are sold separately. When using a Gen 5 M90 supercharger, be aware that the throttle body inlet is positioned higher, which may affect clearance; direct inquiry with ZZPerformance is advised for specific questions. Fitment has been noted in some Holden/Australian applications, though full confirmation of compatibility and functionality cannot be guaranteed.
