Full Stack 2.25" Intercooler Core

The ZZPerformance Full Stack 2.25" Intercooler Core represents the latest design in intercooler technology, building upon previous iterations with significant improvements. This core features straight-through PCV passages, eliminating the need for an intake manifold swap and allowing for the reuse of your stock lower intake. The core itself is engineered for enhanced efficiency, boasting a 20% denser construction optimized for the actual airflow path. Internally, this core has moved beyond RTV sealing, now utilizing machined o-ring passages for a more robust and reliable seal. It is also approximately ¾ of a pound lighter than the previous Stage 2 core and features larger ¾” nipples for increased water flow compared to the older 5/8” nipples. The overall machining quality has also been improved. This intercooler core is intended as a direct replacement for ZZPerformance's 2.25" Intercooler System but can also be employed in custom applications or as an upgrade for smaller intercooler systems. While the 2.25" core generally fits under most stock hoods without requiring modifications, ZZPerformance recommends the addition of cradle spacers for optimal fitment. The system is capable of supporting significant temperature drops, ranging from 110-160 degrees Fahrenheit, contingent on blower speed and boost levels. Longer stainless bolts are included with the pricing to facilitate blower installation. ZZPerformance emphasizes its leadership in intercooler research and development, backed by the unique advantage of operating the only supercharger dyno specifically for the 3800 platform. This allows for precise measurement of numerous parameters, ensuring performance that is not based on speculation but on guaranteed results. It's important to note that gaskets must be purchased separately. Additionally, while this core is designed for Gen 3 and Gen 5 M90 superchargers, users with Gen 5 M90s should be aware that the throttle body inlet is positioned higher, potentially causing clearance issues; consultation with ZZPerformance is advised. Fitment in some Holden/Australian applications has been reported, but full compatibility cannot be confirmed.
