Engineered for compatibility with E85 and other ethanol blends, the FX-180 allows for higher octane fueling, leading to improved knock resistance and safer power output. Its plug-and-play installation means no cutting or splicing is required, simplifying the upgrade process. This makes it an ideal choice for tuned N55 vehicles running Stage 2 or more aggressive calibrations, particularly those utilizing hybrid or larger turbocharger setups where the stock HPFP becomes a limiting factor. Installation of the Spool FX-180 requires tune changes to optimize performance. An important note for E9X 335i or E8X 135i models produced before March 2012 is that the Spool Performance Helix HPFP Overdrive Unit is required for this upgrade.
