FX400 Single Disc Clutch Kit

The Clutch Masters FX400 (6-puck) is a high-performance single disc clutch kit engineered for extreme duty street, road racing, and drag racing. This kit is designed to provide a substantial increase in holding capacity, rated at 170% over stock, making it suitable for high-torque applications. The FX400 system utilizes a Power Plus I, Hi-Leverage, Heavy-Duty Pressure Plate paired with a custom, durable, sprung ceramic 6-puck disc. This configuration offers quick engagement due to its ceramic paddle design. While the sprung hub design allows for moderate dampening and enhances street drivability compared to solid designs, the 6-puck configuration may result in slight clutch chatter, particularly in first and reverse gears. The kit is constructed with premium ceramic friction material for improved durability and rapid heat dissipation. Important considerations for installation include the requirement for a specific Clutch Masters flywheel; the stock OEM flywheel will not work with this kit. The recommended flywheel for kits beginning with 08038 is FW-038-SF. The kit includes an OEM or better release bearing, pilot bearing (when applicable), alignment tool, instruction card, and decals. It is important to note that ceramic-based clutch discs are intended to increase holding capacity and durability, not necessarily lifespan. Aggressive engagement and potential slippage from frequent street driving may reduce the life of a ceramic disc, and they are generally not recommended for stock or near-stock vehicle applications.
