G Series Turbocharger

The Garrett G25-550 G Series turbocharger represents a leap forward in small-frame turbocharger technology, offering up to 550 horsepower from a compact package. It utilizes a fully-machined, CFD-engineered compressor wheel with advanced aerodynamics that increase airflow and efficiency compared to previous generations. The turbine wheel is constructed from a high-temperature Mar-M Alloy, rated for up to 1050°C, and features new aero for improved flow and response. Key specifications include a 48mm compressor wheel inducer and a 60mm exducer with a 65 trim, and a .70 A/R compressor housing. The turbine side features a 54mm inducer and a 49mm exducer with an 84 trim. The turbo comes equipped with a -4AN oil feed fitting (with a 1mm orifice restrictor) and two -6AN coolant fittings. The center housing and backplate are integrated into a one-piece design for enhanced durability and safety. This turbocharger is designed for engines with displacements between 1.4L and 3.0L. It's important to note that performance results are highly dependent on vehicle modifications and proper tuning/calibration. Garrett also advises that maximum allowable turbocharger speed is 185,000 RPM, and a speed sensor kit (sold separately) can be installed to monitor shaft speed and prevent overspeed conditions. This sensor is not compatible with older GT and GTX models.
