G25-550 Turbocharger

The Garrett G25-550 turbocharger represents a new generation of industry-leading technology, offering maximum horsepower capability in a compact package for demanding racing enthusiasts. It is engineered to support engine displacements ranging from 1.4L to 3.0L and can achieve up to 550 horsepower, outperforming comparable products on the market. Key features include G Series compressor aerodynamics with a forged, fully-machined compressor wheel that increases airflow and boost response, compared to previous GTX GenII models. The turbine wheel utilizes all-new aerodynamics and is constructed from Mar-M super alloy, capable of withstanding exhaust gas temperatures up to 1050°C. The turbine housing is made from stainless steel for durability and temperature resistance, available in various configurations including internally wastegated, non-wastegated, open volute, T25, and V-band options. This model, 871389-5001S, features a T25 inlet and a V-band outlet with an internally wastegated turbine housing and a 0.49 A/R. The turbocharger is assembled and calibrated with a 0.5 bar actuator. For optimal performance and to prevent damage, it is crucial to avoid exceeding the maximum allowable turbocharger speed of 185krpm; a speed sensor, sold separately, can be installed to monitor shaft speed. Performance results are highly dependent on vehicle modifications and tuning. Additional features include fully machined speed sensor and pressure ports, a one-piece center housing and backplate for increased durability, and four large water jacket ports for customized cooling line routing. Oil passage is designed for proper bearing lubrication, and the unit includes a -4AN oil restrictor fitting. The turbocharger is available in standard and reverse rotation options for flexible installation.
