Description

The Victron Energy Galvanic Isolator VDI-32 A is a charging system component designed to prevent galvanic corrosion. It blocks low voltage DC currents that enter a vessel via the shore power earth wire. The isolator's internal diodes allow current in both directions above a threshold voltage of approximately 1.4 Vdc. It is installed directly behind a boat's 230V connection and prevents electrolytic current flow. If a higher error voltage occurs in the AC circuit, the diodes conduct, causing the residual-current device to break the circuit.
